"Face Down" allows up to 10 additional players to watch the game

free time magically disappear. If a player has the 9
of trump, he/she is allowed to switch it with
the flipped up card from the deck after winning a trick.
10 points are also awarded to a player who melds a 9 of trump or plays a 9 of trump into a trick.

In most trick taking games, the individual cards in the pile have a specific point
value that is given to the winner. Each round, a player selects
one of the cards in their hand and plays them into
the pile. Four people can take part in a game, in which
case they take turns to sit out while the other three play.

Eight Kings simply form two 'Kings around' for 160 points, and a player who
melds both spade Queens and both diamond Jacks scores just 80 for
two Pinochles. Each subsequent bid must be a multiple of 10
and be higher than the last. Bids ending in 40 or 90 such as 340, 390,
440 are not allowed. A player who does not wish to bid
can pass, and then cannot bid again during the auction.
The original version of Pinochle involves a partial deal of twelve cards to both players in sets of
four, leaving a stock of 24 cards. A player can score one meld after
each trick won of the first 12 tricks. After each trick, players draw one card from the stock into their
hand starting with the trick-winning player.
For the last 12 tricks, melds are taken into each player's hand and are
no longer announced by the player who wins the trick. The traditional trick-taking rules
apply only for these last 12 tricks.
Pinochle game requires taking tricks and a lot of recording of
scores. Ideal for two to four players, the game is played with 48 cards.

The highest values are given to ace, tens, and kings; queens, 9s and jacks
don’t hold any value. To decide the winner, one has to keep a score of melds and tricks.

If a player does not have a card of the leading suit, but has cards of the trump suit, they must play the trump, because
they must play a winning card. Otherwise, the highest value card of the
correct suit wins. If there are two matching winning cards, then whichever was played first wins.

For a single deck, Pinochle is played with a 48 card deck
containing two sets of Aces through 9s.
The last player not to pass wins the bid with the amount
of the last and highest bid. The Ace card has the highest rank, meaning it is the most powerful card.
The next highest is the 10, followed by King, Queen, and
Jack (lowest).
One variation has no "leading" requirement for the bid winner
or subsequent trick winner to lead a specific card, however the rules of "following"
are still observed. Begin the hand-building process by having the dealer draw
the top card of the widow. That player may elect to
either keep the card in her hand, or discard it face-down in a separate pile ("rejecting" it).
If the player keeps the card, he then draws a second card, and without looking
at it places it face-down in the reject pile.
While the best games of Pinochle are played with two people, a three-player game
can be accommodated with some slight tweaking. For three players, deal 18 cards to each player instead of
the standard 12. Set three cards face-down in the middle of the table
to be potentially won by a player during the game’s next stage.

The next thing to consider is whether or not you’re close to getting a meld, and think about
how likely it is you’ll get the card you need from the
"kitty". Often this depends on how the game
is going and where you stand. If you’re behind your opponents
or if the game is almost over, you should definitely take some risk here, otherwise your opponents will leave you
in the dust. On the other hand, if you have a comfortable lead it’s
probably not worth the risk to lose your hard-earned points by bidding foolishly.

Each player receives 15 cards and 3 cards are placed in the kitty, or cat, as it is sometimes called.
These 3 cards can be placed in the cat at any point during the
dealing, with the exception that the last
card in the deck can not be put in the cat.
If the cards are misdealt in any way, they must be shuffled, cut and dealt again.

Some play with no special score for some or all
of the double melds, so that for example a double rope may be

Gilbert Ohlson reports that in St Joseph Missouri a double marriage in trumps scores
240; if it is combined with rope (sequence) the total score is 390.

This way, if one player does not have enough cards, they can be re-distributed
without having to re-shuffle and re-deal the whole deck.

Truth be told, it doesn't matter as long as each
player receives twelve cards, the dealer receiving the final card(s).
The dealer shuffles the cards in whatever manner is convenient to mix them thoroughly.
In fact, nearly every aspect of the game is played differently by somebody,

Next, the partner of the winning player must select and pass over exactly 4 cards from his hand to the winning player. picture cards that form a Pinochle when the game was first played.

The pinochle or penuchle is a wonderful multi-player card game where 2, 3, 4, or 6 players can play.
An optional scoring method for cards taken in play is to count each Aceand ten 10 points, and count each king and queen 5 points.

If the pot is won, everyone contributes to the new pot, including those that were
sitting out. The player who won the auction ('declarer') turns up the three cards in the kitty
for all to see and then picks them up. The declarer, who now has 18 cards, chooses and announces the

The scoring combinations and their values are listed

The suits in a pinochle deck are spades, hearts,
